As my insurance agency and team, along with other businesses I am involved in, continued to grow, our need for accurate, detailed accounting increased as well. This growth required more sophisticated financial planning, including cash flow management, profit and loss reporting, budget development, and comprehensive records management such as HR files, invoicing, and the organization of incoming bills. As our bookkeeping team expanded, we made the decision to bring on additional professionals to support not only my own businesses but others as well. Through this growth, we identified a significant need among small businesses for professional financial organization, planning, and advisory support—services that allow business owners to remain focused on operating and growing their businesses rather than managing day-to-day records. I am proud to say that Guarded has grown well beyond my original business needs and now serves multiple insurance agencies—an area in which we have developed specialized expertise—as well as contractors, farmers, and retail businesses.
Jasmine Johnson
Co-Owner
Jasmine Johnson is an experienced accounting and bookkeeping professional with nearly a decade of industry expertise. She has been with Beukelman & Associates for 9 years, where she has overseen and managed all bookkeeping operations during that time. Jasmine also serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Guarded Bookkeeping, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Dakota Wesleyan University and brings a strong technical foundation to her work. Jasmine specializes in payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, account auditing, and financial record management. Throughout her career, she has supported small to mid-sized businesses, helping them maintain accurate books, remain compliant, and build efficient financial systems. As a mom of three, Jasmine balances professionalism with a strong commitment to organization, accountability, and long-term business success—qualities that consistently add value to the clients and teams she supports.

Laura Hagemann
Executive Assistant
Laura Hageman serves as the Executive Assistant at Guarded Bookkeeping & Payroll Services and Beukelman & Associates, where she has been a valued team member for over 10 years. In this role, Laura supports all aspects of the organization, including local technology support, data storage and management, project coordination, and customer service operations. Her broad skill set and deep institutional knowledge make her an essential resource across the business. Laura holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Organizational Management from Ashford University, equipping her with both analytical expertise and strong operational leadership skills. Outside of work, Laura is the proud mother of two active teenagers who inspire and motivate her to continually grow, lead, and push forward both professionally and personally.

An experienced Chartered accountant with 10+ years in the field, supporting corporate clients through end-to-end accounting and financial operations. My background includes AP, AR, payroll, bookkeeping, financial modeling, audit coordination, and process optimization. With over 7 years of experience working with U.S, UK and Canadian organizations, I have hands-on expertise in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, NetSuite, and various AP/AR and payroll platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
